Dealer Bill Of Sale

Posted on October 5, 2010.
Dealer Bill Of SaleDealer gave me bill of sale, said to give the title after recording be eraseda

Later, after signing everything he said he got the same car auction and it has no title. What can I do nowa Does it give me the title when he succeeda Can I go to the police / DMV and reporta Dealer may sell car without titlea

Relax, Dealers will hold the title until the check clears. This helps protect against bad checks. It is ok when some dealers do not receive the title of the auction when purchasing the car. I'm sure he'll get it. Give it 30 days but keep your sales invoice and receipt in case. If 30 days go by and you do not have the title. Then go to the DMV and file for a lost title. They will research the vehicle and call the dealer. If everything is ok then they issue the title. If there is a problem they will inform you and you need to contact local counsel, general statements etc.

Overall though it is true as a dealer not a front yard I would not worry about it.

I work for a car dealership. We hold all securities until the check by the bank. If you were given the title at the time of purchase, which prevents you to cancel the checka Once the check clears, so you get the title ... the deed of sale is proof that you purchased the vehicle ... it's yours

Wait (no more than 30 days) Yes, no reason, yes ..

If they do not keep their end, you get your money and this is not how the brokers make money ...

Assuming you bought the car from a licensed dealer (not just a "dealer" who sells cars in its front yard) I would not worry. You have possession of the vehicle, and you have a bill of sale.

A dealer must protect themselves against bad checks. Sadly, there are many crooks out there, and the idiots who "can not be overdrawn, I still have checks left."

When I ran a lot of detail, I would always wait until I am sure that the check had cleared before I released the title! I've only had two customers who were unhappy about this, we went and got money from the bank, instead of giving me a personal check! The other tried to harass and threaten me, telling me that if I did not give him the title when he paid for the car, he was not going to buy it. I thanked him for coming, and told him I was sorry we could not do business.

If I give a purchaser of a security, and control the rebounds, I can not have taken the car. If I have the title in hand, I can!

Dealers often buy cars from auctions and have to wait several days to get the titles. Some dealers sell cars "title absent" in the auctions, which means they are not physically with them as to the auction. For example, a small auction I attend regularly, several major brokers in the region send cars for sale. Rather than having an employee of the grant to attend the auction, they have cars represented by staff of the auction. If a car is sold, they bring the title of the auction the next afternoon. If the car does not sell, they send it to more auction, run by the same company the next day.

Some dealers pick up their titles next week, some people have posted and bank drafts used to pay for the car, where the auction is the title in the draft, and sends it to the bank dealers. The bank pays the draft on the account dealers and gives the dealer the title.

If I knew the title was available, but simply did not have it in my hands, I would sell a car. For example, I bought a car (title missing) at an auction on Tuesday. On Friday, the auction call me to say that the selling dealer handed the title to them. They can send it to me, or keep it until I go to the auction in person to pick it up. I ask them to keep it, because I plan to return for the sale Tuesday of next week. On Saturday, a customer comes in and.
