Effective Filing Date

I registered a new company with the State of New York and got my EIN, I want to make the choice S Corporation. I do not understand what date to be fulfilled: E election to be effective for the beginning of the tax year (day, month, year).

The instructions are complicated and it is impossible to understand.

If you created on 6/13/08, while the first day of your first tax year. You have 2-1/2 months of that date to make the choice.
