Can I register a car with his mother's name on my bill of sale in Georgiaa My mother wants to send me a used car as a gift. She lives in NY and I am in Georgia, but his name appears on the deed. She bought the used car from a neighbor and he did not come with a title. If she sends me the car can I save in GA with his name on the BOS or does it need to be changed for me b4 I doa How we go about changing anything with the DMV, if we do not live in the same statea
u need a title ..... cheapest way is to get the neighbor to get a duplicate title ........ NY ..... have a title if u don'tu might as well remove the car ...
BOS means nothing and u CAN untitled track that is not a vehicle with a title signed over u. ......
** So u can, but takes 120 days and about $ 500 and a pile of legal paperwork .........
Title ** duplicate runs about 15-30 dollars in most places .....
If the neighbor did not give it a title, it is not his car. She can not give it to you without a title, you can not save it, untitled.
Ownership of vehicles, only ever happens with a title.
Thus, it would somehow the title first, then sign the title is yours.
It could be stolen, it could be a repo. But you will not find on, until you spend money to try to stick to the track, and do so on your behalf. . . then, you're probably just going to be money.
No, you can not due to obtaining insurance Ga thinf must all be in your name
