Greek New Testament Text

Posted on November 5, 2010.
Greek New Testament TextWhy is it, people think that the KJV Textus Receptus is the only valid New Testament Greek texta

"Crazy" is correct. Although I doubt many people really believe that KJV only the Textus Receptus (TR) is the only valid text New Testament, the fact is that such an argument has never been proposed before * production * the revised version in 1895 or so. The argument has been created to support the belief that only the KJV is valid.

In other words, the argument has been specifically designed to defend LSG-Onlyism. Person before the effort that the TR was higher, which is (of course) why TR was not used as a primary source (with very few exceptions) since the time of the first truly "critical text "Westcott and Hort. I do not think that any licensed physician of the old (Koine) Greek application that supports the TR is more valid (although, of course I could be wrong).

Circular logic at its foundation ... how sweet, arrrgh! Flag

Because the other manuscripts (Alexandria, Sinai, Coptic, etc.) contained errors. They were older because they are better preserved, because few people used them. The replicas were frequently used and have brought faster, copies, so more should be done, so we have accurate copies of manuscripts are not as old as inaccurate copies. Older is not necessarily better.

because the KJV was based on it
