Home Based Craft BusinessWould like to find a craft business at home with my owna

I am a wife of a husband with a post-polio, it can not work no more. And have custody of my grand-son of 51 / 2 years. And I love crafts and I have a small home based business that I enjoy doing. Would like some adivse on how to begin. I do not want to become rich, I just want to be able to make enough money to be comfortable. I am 51 years old and just want to be home with my little son and I will be able to send them to school and be able to participate in its curriculum and make alittle more money on the side. Thank you for any assistance that might be given

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business and the industry you are interested in.

I recommend you check the SBA, Entrepreneur, startup Journal & Nolo. All four are great resources of information for new / small business owner. I posted links for you in the source area.

Associations may be a good way to explore as well. These organizations will address many thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably and many have not yet planned. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research - this can not be stressed enough. Read everything you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Start your own business Crafts (Start-Up Entrepreneur Magazine's; Guide # 1304) by Entrepreneur Press
* How to start a craft workshop at home, 4 per Oberrecht Kenn
* The Basic Guide to crafts on the Internet by James Dillehay
* Paper Crafts Business Response & Resource Guide: Answers to hundreds of troublesome questions about starting, marketing and managing a home business efficiently, legally and economically by Barbara Brabec

There are many free resources for information there. Check the box source of links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success and happiness in all your endeavors!

I'm glad my answer helped you. Thank you for the best answer vote!

Selling your stuff is the problem you need to solve - it seems you can not be doing that all day, every day, you'll need not only to do stuff at home, but maybe he will sell, too. Here are some ideas to consider:

1) Do you have friends or acquaintances who were also create handmade objects and crafts (pottery, fabric arts, jewelry, glass arts, paper arts, photography, etc.)a If yes, you can schedule regular events, where each of you show your work and invite everyone you know. You can have this event in your home and use mail, email, and phone calls to spread the word.

Have some food and drink and find some other means of making the event fun for people (like a party, but do not let people lose focus on why they are there). Be sure to have a mailing list so that people can register to increase the number of people who come to your events. Plan to have at least four events of the year. I have friends who have done this for a number of years, customers have come to look forward to each event and now they have been so successful that they have a store.

2) Do you know someone who does "direct marketing" partiesa You know, those events where people gather a.
