The Scroll and the Lamb
1Then I live in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written with both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2and I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice: "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the booka" 3But one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside. 4I wept and wept because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5Then one of the elders said to me: "Do not cry! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. It is able to open the book and its seven seals. "

A priest from ancient times is the one who offers sacrifices for the community. A priest, therefore, is one who leads others to holiness. This is the mission of every Christian. Thus the Catholic Church looks at what he calls "the universal priesthood of believers." It's different and not contradictive to the priesthood special refers to ordained clergy.
