Legal name change of a monir in Texasa I have a 16 year old son who left the mother when he was a few weeks and never showed up again. Yes, to be his biological father, you have the legal right to do as much as I heard. I think a good majority of lawyers handle this - it's not that expensive, but you need to use one for paper. Try checking your local newspaper for ads that mention the name changes, and phonebook. This is how I found mine.
