Loved the way you framed your question - a problem in hand, and under a hypothetical example or company around him ha ha. I would say that people laugh at him and go to a better shop around. Deborah Tannen (gender differences in communication scholar who teaches at Georgetown) said that the problem you are experiencing is due to different communication styles between men and women. The men are with their wives to talk about something they need for a solution. If they want pity, they are with their male friends. Women do the opposite, asking their boyfriends to listening and empathy, but will their friends and sometimes their parents in search of a solution. I'm not sure how the theory of Professor Tannen is true and I know it is not true for me, but you can see it rather than invest in such an undertaking. Clearly both men and women go to a machine shop to get their car fixed. I'm sure companies would be a bust.
