Private party car sales problema What if I was sold a vehicle of my father. And we had a verbal agreement with him before two witnesses that I finished paying off what remains of (3) payments over a few hundred dollars. The second payment if I was going to be late and asked for an extension of what he has accepted. And he decided that he wants to rest the car from me because of an argument. Is this even legala I want to trade the vehicle in a car dealership for a different vehicle, but was wondering if I could legally do so.
You would need to go to court, witnesses have to testify and you must prove that you had made payments to him. Have you paid with checksa If not, did you get a receipt when you paida
If you can not or will not go through all that is probably not what you can do since I use that title is still in his name.
Take a lesson ... treat each case as business. Just because you are dealing with friends or family does not mean you can not get screwed.
You probably could, but it should go to small claims court with your witnesses and finish paying off the car.
