Simple Last Will And Testament

Simple Last Will And TestamentIs there a website where you can download the form for a simple and will lasta

My in laws are bad (retired seniors with fixed incomes very) and the need to have a will and a proxy. Need to know if there is a way to download and do it yourself. They live in Texas.

The legal forms are generally not available online because the lawyers will lose their jobs.

It could be considered the unauthorized practice of law for you to write a will for you in-laws, and furthermore, if you're one of the heirs, it might tend to result in a contest of will.

As suggested, if a law school in the area, most schools have the right to a legal clinic where law students (working under the supervision of a licensed lawyer) could prepare wills for your in-laws. This would also ensure that comports with the requirements will be the state of Texas.

Contrary to popular belief, lawyers actually like the sites do-it-yourself and books and programs. Lawyers make a lot of money to repair the damage that people create when they try to do their own legal work.

Unfortunately, the law is complex, and certification requirements considerably from state to state. People do not understand these requirements, and if you're not careful, you will cost your family thousands of dollars in legal fees later, if the will is not properly drafted.

If there is not a free legal service, I suggest you contact your county association or state bar and ask for a referral to a lawyer. Some county bar associations and state programs and also have groups of lawyers who will make a simple desire to relatively little money. A simple will should not cost much of a lawyer anyway. In my area, about $ 250 to $ 300 would be appropriate.

If your relatives live in a city where there is a law school, contact the law school and see if they have free clinics, which does for low-income seniors. Go to the Faculty of Law, information on who to contact.

You can make a holographic will in Texas, but having a lawyer make a set for you will save your family money in the long term.

A will can be a simple piece of paper and do so without a notary or a lawyer.

I could not find any free sites, but there are several sites at low prices - as low as $ 2.99.

Each state has different laws on this subject. Check with a CPA who can guide you on your region.
