Vehicle Sales Receipt

I bought a car ...
paid for it.
received the bill of sale signed by both myself and the dealer
the vehicle.
I have the receipt.
and the dealer gave me the title as well.
My problem is that he didn't sign it for me!
I am new to this and knew by the time i spent in the registry a week later, when I had money.
The title is in his name.
He returned to the country he had no way of contacting him now ...
What should I doaa

Sign on as yourself or someone you know to sign it. I have done when people have forgotten to sign it or when my mother died and we needed to sell the car .. Must be that big of a deal just do not lie about it, if anyone ever comes to ask.

Keep the bill of sale forever if you do this.
