Writing a reference to the use of care assistantsa Hello everyone,
I'm new here and just want to say that it is a fantastic site! I came across the other day, and full of useful information.
I am here today with the hope that someone may be able to give me some advice pleasea I was approached for a reference from a colleague of my ex, she was assistant to care and I was his senior. Could anyone advice me on what information I need to include in this letter of recommendation / referencesa I am aware of the dates of employment, but do not know where to start really. I have rights to list and comment.
All tips are much appreciated.
A big thank you in advance.
How to write a reference letter
Here are some easy guidelines (in no particular order):
Explain how you know the applicant and how long you have known him.
Regarding a special person to others you've faced with similar backgroundsa List the applicant's exceptional qualities and skills, particularly those related to the field of applicant's research interest or employment. Give specific examples to back up what you wrote.
Refer to the competence of the applicant in a specific field and / or previous experience, organization and communication skills, academic or other achievements, interaction with others, a common sense, reliability, capacity analysis, etc.
Omit weaknesses. If you can not write a positive letter of reference, you should diplomatically decline when you are first approached.
Provide your own qualifications. Why the reader is impressed by your letter of referencea
Emphasize key points that you want the reader to take note of the resumption or application. Be sure to develop significantly, not simply repeating what he / she has already written.
Unless it is absolutely relevant, do not refer (either in a direct or indirect reference) to the applicant's race, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex or marital status.
Do not be too short, but be succinct and make every word count. Generally, a reference letter for employment should be a page, a reference letter for school admission should be one to two pages.
List your own contact information if you are willing to receive follow-up correspondence or answer questions.
Make the ending strong without overdoing it. Undo praise can be seen as biased or in bad faith.
Proofread! The letter of reference represents both you and the applicant.
You can always write the letter if you feel confident enough to issue. But you can always wait until the company has applied for a job with communicating with you as usual to write to you, but if they contact you on the phone you just explain what she did, that his time on and what it was like to work with it I did it for people i have worked in the past. Hope this helps.
The way I read your letter, you were both colleagues even if you were older. As such a reference on your part would be a personal reference, not as a business employers. Everything you need to say is how long you knew her and to the best of your knowledge, she has the skills and experience to the position she is applying. Let there.
